Nice but does it make enough money to counter the cost of scrolls

Yep. My best drop was 4x ranger tomes (500g each) + 3x gold armor from ONE spawn. A lot of runes and nice chance for getting more cash than at the beginning of leveling.

What prof are you?

Clearing the courtyard in Hidden City of Ahdashim HM can net ~15k xp in 3-4 minutes with the 175% scroll from merchants, and you get decent drops there too, Djinn Essences sell ~200g each in addition to gold drops and hoards of Glittering Dust, as well as items that can be salvaged for gems.

N/Mo, Mo/N can do it solo, D/E (and E/D but its drastically slower) can do it with a hero bonder, that's probably all though... maybe E/A?

If you have EoTN, try doing the Brawling Dungeon quest in Gunnar's Hold. It's repeatable, and you get knocked out, so it don't count as dying... It's not far into the game at all. There is a load of Dwarves that you can kill and get a crap load of Exp... especially if you use scrolls. The runs takes about 10 minutes flat to complete. So, its completely safe for survivors, and every profession can do it all the same. I usually get 1 skill point per run.

In EOTN HM: Ice Cliff Chasms – kill the worms that pop up. If you take a scroll you can get (I think) 1k exp per kill. The worms are only melee and can’t hurt you if you nuke from afar.

There's a thread somewhere about this.

if you're a monk, and have all the money to unlock 55 Mo/N skills, you can farm jade bro just outside the market place (faction). each jade bro give 100 exp in normal mode if you solo them (300 exp in hard mode).

by the way, if you are lucky, they drop lockpick too.

For this you have to be a Ranger/Me, but a pretty good spot for mass xp quickly is stygian veil solo trapping (in HM, too) -- bring the uw speed trap solo build (sub tripwire for whirling d though), follow that guide on using the echo trapping sequence, all radiant armor, etc. Just take the quest when u zone into Stygian Veil and take the bounty....wait for the stygians to stack up then run down and set your traps...pull, then run...what you get is mass exp, decent drops and possible stygian gems...see attached pic for exp never really done the calcs exactly but i think one round nets about 16k exp, only takes less than 5 min per round (the quest has 6 waves)

Seconded, got a survivor in three days here. Running with the scroll (double xp for 10mins). Once you get the hang of it and learn to position yourself properly, it's easy to complete it under 10 minutes in every run as ReZDoGG mentioned.
